In Research and Development, Industrial Timber employs some of the best talent in the industry and with investments made in cutting edge software, our approach to Research and Development is a multi-faceted one, addressing our customer's aesthetic and performance goals, while achieving frames that are lower cost, superior in strength, are easy to assemble, and that meet Industrial Timber's own manufacturing objectives. 

Our systems enable us to increase router yields by combining multiple customer cutting orders within the same nest diagram.  For example, Industrial Timber's systems can nest small components for one customer within the wasted space of another customer's nest diagram.  Industrial Timber systems can also combine multiple customer orders in its lumber cutting operations.  Unlike the upholsterers, we can combine multiple customer orders and industries to increase our yields.  This yield advantage cannot be matched by the in-house frame operations of upholsterers.

Through Research and Development, our strengths on the buy side and our experience across many thousands of frames per week spanning multiple customers, Industrial Timber can switch raw materials in frames immediately, backing up the conversion with Research and Development data and third party verification.  By the time many upholsterers accomplish raw material changes, the markets dictate another choice and it starts all over again.  While talk of a raw material change engrosses the board rooms of many upholsterers, Industrial Timber is acting upon the change.  From plywood to OSB to lumber and back again, Industrial Timber is continually reinventing.  By the time, an upholsterer identifies the pick ups gained from a change; Industrial Timber is on to something else.
